The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) is an Australian Government initiative aimed at providing funding and support to individuals with disabilities. The goal is to assist eligible participants in achieving greater independence, developing new skills, accessing employment, volunteering, and enjoying social activities with friends and family. The NDIS provides personalised Care Plans, tailored to each individual’s needs, goals, and aspirations. These plans typically span 1-3 years, adapting as circumstances and needs change over time.

Yes, you can change providers at any time. If you feel that another provider is better suited to meet your needs, you have the right to choose a different one. You can work with your Support Coordinator to ensure a smooth transition between providers.

Yes, we offer a range of other supports to assist you in achieving your goals. This includes in-home care, assistance with daily living activities, community participation, and Supported Independent Living (SIL). We also provide supports aimed at helping you build life skills, gain independence, and enhance your overall quality of life.

NDIS funding covers three main categories:

  1. Core Supports: Assistance with daily tasks such as personal care, domestic help, and transportation.
  2. Capacity Building Supports: Services designed to build skills for greater independence, such as therapy, training, and employment assistance.
  3. Capital Supports: Funding for assistive technology, home modifications, and other equipment needed to enhance independence and accessibility.

How do I apply for NDIS funding?
To apply for NDIS funding, you must meet certain eligibility criteria, including being an Australian citizen or permanent resident, being under 65 years of age, and having a permanent disability. The application process involves submitting an Access Request form to the NDIS. Once you’re eligible, the NDIS will work with you to develop a personalised Care Plan that outlines the supports and services you need.

  • Core Supports: These are for everyday needs, such as assistance with personal care, household chores, transport, and consumables like continence products.
  • Capacity Building Supports: These are aimed at helping you gain greater independence over time, with services focused on skill-building, social and community participation, and training to help you find and keep a job.
  • Yes, NDIS funding can be used for respite care through Short Term Accommodation (STA). Respite care offers caregivers a temporary break while ensuring that participants continue to receive care and support in a safe and comfortable environment.
