Assistance With Self-Care Activities

Assistance With Self-Care Activities

Self-care is a vital component of maintaining independence and improving well-being, which is why it is central to the support services we provide under the NDIS.

Assistance with daily life

We collaborate with you to assess your individual needs and create a personalised care plan tailored to your lifestyle. This plan may include support with personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, grooming, and other essential self-care tasks. Our aim is to preserve your dignity, enhance your overall quality of life, and encourage greater independence in your day-to-day activities. By providing thoughtful, respectful support, we empower you to live life confidently and fully, with a focus on your health, well-being, and personal preferences.

For Support Coordinators

The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) is an Australian Government initiative designed to provide funding for individuals with permanent and significant disabilities. The scheme empowers participants to achieve greater independence, develop new skills, find employment, participate in community activities, and improve their quality of life. Each participant receives a personalised Care Plan that is aligned with their specific goals, and these plans are designed to adapt to their evolving needs over time.

Yes, you can change providers whenever you need to. If you feel another provider is better suited to your needs, you have the option to transition to them with the support of your Support Coordinator.

Yes, in addition to self-care assistance, we offer a wide range of supports, including community participation, in-home care services, and Supported Independent Living (SIL). These services are designed to help participants build independence and work towards achieving their personal goals.

NDIS funding covers various supports, including:

  • Core Supports: Assistance with daily activities such as personal care, domestic tasks, and transport.
  • Capacity Building Supports: Services aimed at developing skills for greater independence and participation in the community.
  • Capital Supports: Funding for assistive technologies and home modifications to improve accessibility.
  • Respite Care: Short-term accommodation and care that offers relief for primary caregivers.

To apply for NDIS funding, individuals must meet the eligibility criteria, which include being an Australian citizen or permanent resident, under the age of 65, and having a permanent disability. The application involves submitting a form or contacting the NDIS directly to begin the process of assessment. Once approved, a personalised plan will be created with the help of an NDIS planner.

Core Supports focus on immediate needs, such as assistance with personal care and household tasks, whereas Capacity Building Supports focus on long-term goals, such as building skills for independence and community participation.

Yes, NDIS funding can be used for respite care, which is available through Short Term Accommodation (STA) to provide temporary relief for caregivers. This ensures that participants continue to receive care while their primary caregivers take a well-deserved break.
