For Support Coordinators

The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) is a government initiative designed to support individuals with disabilities by providing funding to help them live more independently and achieve their personal goals. The NDIS enables eligible participants to access the services and support they need to develop new skills, pursue employment or volunteering opportunities, engage in community activities, and enhance their quality of life. With personalised care plans, the NDIS tailors support based on individual goals and needs, and these plans are flexible to accommodate changes as life circumstances evolve.

Yes, you have the right to change providers at any time. If you feel your current provider is not meeting your needs or goals, you can explore other options that better suit you. You should discuss your preferences with your Support Coordinator or NDIS representative to help facilitate a smooth transition.

Yes, at Abilities Amplified, we offer a range of supports, including in-home care, personal care assistance, community participation, and Supported Independent Living (SIL). Our services are designed to help individuals achieve greater independence and connect with their community.

NDIS funding covers a broad range of supports, including:

  • Core Supports: Assistance with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and cleaning.
  • Capacity Building Supports: Services that help participants build skills for greater independence and social participation.
  • Capital Supports: Funding for assistive technologies and home modifications to improve mobility and accessibility.
  • Respite Care: Short-term support to provide breaks for primary caregivers.

To apply for NDIS funding, you must meet the eligibility criteria, which include being an Australian citizen or permanent resident, having a permanent disability, and being under 65 years of age. You can apply through the NDIS website or contact the NDIS directly for assistance with the application process. Once your eligibility is confirmed, an NDIS planner will work with you to create your personalised support plan.

Core Supports are intended to assist with everyday tasks and personal care, such as assistance with household chores, transportation, and personal hygiene. These supports help participants with daily living activities and basic needs.
Capacity Building Supports are designed to help participants build the skills needed for greater independence, such as improving social skills, increasing mobility, or developing employment capabilities. These supports are focused on helping individuals achieve long-term goals and greater autonomy.

Yes, NDIS funding can be used for respite care, which is provided under Short Term Accommodation (STA). Respite care allows primary caregivers to take a break while ensuring the participant continues to receive the necessary support in a safe environment.
